RUBY IS HERE!!!

SO much has happened in the past two months I don't know where to start. We moved to Utah, found a doctor/hospital, found a home/moved in, had a baby, celebrated Halloween, and here we are.

On October 30th at 8:34am, Ruby was born! She was 6 lbs, 10oz and 19 inches long. She was a week early, and I couldn't be happier with how her delivery went. It was almost identical to Bradleys delivery. I started contracting at home around 12:30am, had my epidural a couple hours later, and she was out in 2 pushes! It was great. The only hiccup was the Doctors needed 4 tries to get my IV in correctly, which hurt almost more than a contraction.

She is so peaceful and brings such a special spirit into our home. I was worried Bradley wasn't going to handle having a sister very well, but he is so helpful. Every time she cries he'll find her pacifier and hand it to her. He brings her her blanket and always says "hi" in the mornings. He really is the sweetest big brother and I feel so blessed to have 2 amazing children. Adam has been such a GREAT help and so habe my parents. We live about 10 minutes from my parents home, which is great because Bradley loves hanging out at their house.

Life is getting busier, but the transition has been wonderful. I love being a mom and can't wait to see them grow up!

Belly Update

Here I am at 33 weeks. This is the LAST picture you'll see of my belly because I'm getting bigger by the minute and its not cute. I seriously feel like I'm the same size as I was when I delivered Bradley! On the upside, only 6 and a half more weeks until I get to meet Ruby! I can't wait to have a baby girl and cuddle another newborn. I'm trying to get Bradley prepared, but he doesn't have a clue that his world is going to change. Less than 2 months, home stretch!!

WE ARE MOVING TO UTAH!!!! Remember how I said my life has been crazy lately? Well, that's an understatement. Between job interviews and the deadline of our second child approaching in just 8 weeks, things have been pretty stressful. I'm happy to say that everything is finally working itself out and we are getting excited about this HUGE change in our lives. It's funny how everything tends to work out when you feel like life will never make sense. FOr a while we thought it was impossible to relocate our family in such a short amount of time, but our prayers have been answered.

As excited as I am to start a new life with our little family, I'm going to miss my San Diego friends dearly. We've been here for almost 5 years and its hard to imagine us anywhere else. We're going to miss California, its all we know. I hope we learn to love Utah as well. The last thing I have to figure out is who I want my Doctor to be and what Hospital to deliver our Ruby in (we're naming her Ruby :). Did I mention I only have 8 weeks until she's born?!!? Crazy. Life never slows down I guess :)

We used to bowl ALL the time when we were dating, so it brought back many memories.

When Adam bowls he's all business.

I will be 18 weeks pregnant this weekend. We find out the sex of our baby on June 10th. I CAN'T WAIT!

This is Adam's "I got a STRIKE" dance. Some of the memories that came up were how Adam ALWAYS creamed me! Let's just say his " I got a strike" dance got pretty old by the time we left. He got a score of 164 one game. How am I supposed to compete with that? I also got a lot of stares because I was bowling with a baby bump. Anyways, it was great to get out and enjoy a night alone.

Bradley is pretty obsessed with Sesame Street these days, so it was easy to decide his theme for his Easter basket.
I was super excited about this Elmo doll I got him, but he was more interested in the eggs. We put a couple pieces of candy in some of the eggs, but most of them were filled with fishy crackers.

All handsome for Church. I must say, it's hard to get creative with a little boys wardrobe, so I just decided to keep things simple. If we had a girl to dress, we would be broke.

It's funny how we live 20 minutes from the beach, and we rarely make it there once a month. Yesterday it was a nice afternoon, and we all needed to get out of the house, so we decided to head to the shores. Bradley is getting better about not just eating the sand, but as you can see, he still manages to get it all over himself. Oh and he picked up a dead crab the size of my fist.

There is a new blog that I LOVE to look at. It gives me such inspiration and great ideas when it comes to my wardrobe. It's called, Sisters 4 Say More is More. They transformed a pair of plain khaki's into cute skinny khakis. I happened to have a pair of plain khaki's that I never wear, so I thought, why not?! Since, I already had my sewing machine out, I decided to give it a shot. I have to say I love how they turned out! It wasn't hard at all. Now I just need to figure out what to wear with khaki's....?

Good news, Bradley is 100% better! Thanks goodness that virus is gone. He has caught up on sleep and so have I.

Today he was biting into an orange and it was pretty funny watching his reaction. You can see it in the photos, not what he expected, but he kept going! The skin is supposed to have extra vitamins, right? Once I peeled it he wasn't that interested anymore. Oh well.

It has been a rough few days at my house. Bradley has had a fever for the past 4 days and as a result can't sleep without waking up every hour. (I've been up almost every hour the past 3 nights, which is why you don't see make up on my face and my hobo clothes) On Saturday he got so warm we almost took him to Urgent care, but he cooled down after his nap. You can see how red his face is in these pics because of his fever. He seems to be doing better, but is still a little warm. His Dr. said to give it one more day, so I'm trying not to worry. I just want him to get better!

So at the moment I am trying to spruce up my boring bookshelf in my room, and as I was looking for inpsiration online, I saw this AWESOME little office that was created from a closet. How cute is this little space?! I love the wallpaper and aqua. If only I had an extra closet in my house...

Today Bradley is 1 year old!!!! Do I really have a 1 year old? I can't believe how fast this year has gone. I'm a little sad that's he's growing up so fast, but I am more excited to see him learn and develop as a little guy. I feel so blessed to have his sweet spirit in our home. He makes me a better person everyday and I wouldn't trade him for the world. How did I get so lucky? Happy Birthday my sweet sweet Bradley! I love you!

Last week Adam and I bought Bradley a walker and it's so cute to watch him move his little legs. This was right after we bought it and about his second time using it. Every day he gets faster and balances better. Our little boy is growing up SO fast and we can't slow him down!

The first week in November my Mom came to visit my sisters and I. She stayed a few days at each of our homes (since we all live about an hour apart; Orange County, Riverside, and San Diego). Bradley was all smiles for his Grandma Maxwell! It was also my Birthday on the 8th, so my best friends Megan and Tiffany drove down for a fun dinner. We've been friends for over 14 years! Crazy, huh?? Adam also took me out for a great Vietnamese dinner. It's been a great start to November, to say the least!

We had such a great Halloween! It is such a fun holiday and I'm sad it's already over. We went to a pumpkin patch and our wards Trunk or Treat. Our great friends Buddy and Sara drove down to join us for the Trunk or Treat and our trunk won for best Halloween decor! I have to say that we couldn't have won without Buddy and Sara's rad trunk, but we like to think we contributed a little :) I loved Bradley's costume and I was surprised he kept it on all night. Costumes are so much fun and I can't wait for next year!

Well SO much has happened since my last post. The first weekend in August Adam and I were able to visit Seattle for little June's baby blessing. June is Aaron and Michelle's baby girl. She is so cute and looks just like her mommy. I have to say that I love Seattle. I just love the greenery and cooler weather. It's funny how I live in San Diego, but crave rain and clouds, haha.

That next weekend Adam's brother Michael came to visit. They drove up for their cousins graduation at Pepperdine in Malibu. We had good food and played some fun games! Bradley had fun with his Uncle Michael too :)

On August 13th I flew up to Utah for Cliff's homecoming! Cliff is home!! He served in Jacksonville, FL and returned with honor. It was so fun to listen to his mission stories and to catch up on life. The night before he got home it felt like I hadn't seen him in 10 years, but now that's he's home it feels like he never left. It was so great to be with all my siblings again and extended family. I was able to see cousins I haven't seen in forever and aunts and uncles, and of course my sweet Grannie. It was fun to see Bradley play with his little cousins too.

So, Adam and I are trying to establish a new tradition. We're going to try and go to the beach every Friday afternoon...or at least a couple times a month. I LOVE the beach in the late afternoon for many reasons....

1- It's not crowded at all.

2- I don't have to wear sunscreen and smell like sunscreen.

3- I don't have to put sunscreen on Bradley (and constantly worry that I missed a spot and he's gonig to get fried!).

4- I can actually watch Adam surf (during the day it's so busy that I can't spot where Adam is in the ocean)

5- I can wear a comfy hoodie and relax to the cool breeze and enjoy the smells around me. And the list goes on...

Hello everyone! Just a quick update. We are doing well and Bradley is growing like crazy. He is just over 4 months old now and does something new almost every day. His new thing is sucking on his hands whenever he gets a bath. It's hilarious to watch him try and fit ten fingers in his little mouth! He's also rolling over alllll the time now. I just want to wish everyone a Happy Mother's Day! I had a wonderful weekend thanks to Adam and Bradley. I cannot tell you how much I enjoy being a mother. So far I've loved every minute of it and I can't wait for the years to come. I feel so blessed and honored to be Bradley's Mom.

Olive's Baby Blessing

This past Sunday was Olive's baby blessing in Long Beach. Cindel and Olive looked fabulous for their special day! It was so fun to get together with my family.(We missed you Callie and Cliff!) My little baby is growing up so fast! Last week I set him down for tummy time, and 2 seconds later I see him on his back! So I pulled out the camera and filmed him roll over! It was the cutest thing ever to watch him figure out how to do this...pay attention to his little hand...too cute!

So, I believe Bradley spits up more than any other baby in history! He never spits up his whole meal, but he constantly spits up little puddles the following hour after he eats. You can never see his cute outfits because he always has a bib covering his shirt. I'm also afraid for anyone who holds him because they might get baby spit all over them! Last Friday he had his 3 month checkup and I asked about any reflux problems he might have, but the Dr. said he's gaining weight and is perfectly healthy. So I guess I should just get used to wearing Bradley's spit on my clothes, haha.

My cousin Megan was visiting Cindel in Long Beach, so we got together on Monday to eat and shop! It was so fun to see Megan because she is like a sister to me. We always have a great time laughing and catching up. Cindel's friend Lyndzee joined us as well:)

Cindel also came with her beautiful Olive. Olive and Bradley are only 5 weeks apart, and they seem so different already! Bradley is huge compared to Olive, but maybe that's because he's boy?

Since having Bradley I have struggled with what to do with myself when I have free time. It's not enough time to really get into a good book, or start a sewing project...so I have started to go on regular walks with the baby and the dog. At first, it was really hard to manage Bradley in the carrier and Silo on the leash, but I think I finally have a groove to it all. Bradley LOVES going on walks and of course Silo does too. It's a nice break to get out of the house and breathe some fresh air.

On January 13th at 8:47am Bradley was born at 7lbs 4oz. We've waited quite some time for this little guy, and we couldn't be happier. The delivery was't too painful. My total labor was just over 6 hours and the epidural was the best part! Here are some photos from the hospital.

Thanks to a wonderful and thoughtful husband, I have had a wonderful Birthday weekend! Last night we went to dinner with our friends Megan and Owen, and had a nice relaxing Sunday at home. Adam gave me a wonderful gift AND promised to do the dishes, take care of Silo, and give me a nice back scratch every day for a WHOLE week! I feel very spoiled:) Adam's Sunday school class also made me this cute candy gram:)

31 weeks!

20 weeks!

Well hello strangers! Sorry I've been MIA that past several months! Yes, I am still alive and as healthy as can be. I'm sure most of you know by now, but Adam and I are expecting our first child! I am 31 weeks pregnant and due January 13th. We are having a beautiful boy and couldn't be more excited! I am so sorry I haven't 'officially' announced this sooner, but better late than never, right?

Well here are a couple pictures of my baby bump. The smaller belly pic is when I was 20 weeks pregnant. And the larger baby bump was taken this morning before Church. So I am around 7 and a half months pregnant and feeling good!

Last week Adam was a groomsmen at his friend John's wedding. You know how Adam loves to go snowboarding? Well, John is his partner in crime when it comes to extreme sports. Actually, my first date EVER with Adam was a double date with him and John...so this was a happy happy day! We couldn't be happier for him and can't wait to get to know his new bride! Hello Everyone!

Sorry I haven't posted anything since Halloween, haha! I didn't realize its been so long! Well let me give you a quick update on our life since Halloween. I had my 23rd Birthday last November. My brother in law Aaron and his wife Michelle came down, which was a blast. We always have a lot of fun when they visit. We also had our 3rd wedding Anniversary last Dec. It's scary how time flies!

We spent Christmas at my parents home and New Years with the Lauper's. We had a wonderful time during the Holidays, but were ready to get back to the normal life. In January we received new callings, yay! I am now a Beehive advisor and I love it!! I am so excited to be involved with the YW. Adam's new calling is teaching Sunday school to the seniors. He really enjoys teaching and loves his new calling as well. It's fun because we both teach on Sunday's and we help each other out with lesson ideas.

Sorry for the grungy pictures...but I decided to go with number 1!! I cut off almost 12 inches of hair!! My great friend Sara (she's my friend that lives in AZ) cut and colored my new hair! I love it! Right before she cut it she was like, "Are you sure...?" and I said, "Chop it!" I really do love it and I don't miss my long hair yet! It's a nice change. I really haven't EVER cut my hair more then a few inches, so this is a milestone for me!

#1 The Trendy Hair

This style would be the most dramatic, but fun! Should I brighten it up and chop it off to a longer A-line cut? I would LOVE to do this, but we all know I'm not very gutsy...maybe if everyone votes for this I just might do it!
#2 The Natural Hair

The reason I am tempted to go this route is because my re-growth won't be so prominent. I'm not the best at staying on top of my highlights...which is why I want something more low maintenance. Should I go closer to my natural color with the darker blondes, but keep some blonder highlights around my face...and keep it long?

#3 The Fall Hair

This color would be fun because it is fall, so darker is in. This isn't a great picture, but I was thinking of darkening it altogether and putting some carmel highlights throughout?? What do you think?

Surprise Visit!

This past Sunday Cliff was planning on visiting us because he wanted to visit some friends that were in San Diego...and of course he thinks we're the coolest ever! So...as he was driving up to my house I walked out to show him where to park and then pops up CINDEL in the passenger seat!!! I was so excited!! They are sneeky sneeky! I had a great time with them, even though I didn't get much sleep:) I love it when my family comes to visit because even though we are only 1 hour away, it feels much further!

Last weekend my family and I went to Disneyland! It was so much fun, but extremely HOT!! It was close to 100 degrees during the day, but boy was it fun! We went on so many rides and ate a lot of ice! My friend Megan was able to meet up with us that night and it was really fun to catch up. Sorry I don't have pictures of everyone...but enjoy!

Hello everyone! Sorry I haven't blogged in forever! Adam and I went camping in Borrego Springs Desert last weekend and I have been meaning to post some pics, but because I married a "computer guy" it's hard to find the right cord in this house. I'm sure some of you know this, but Adam has drawers FULL of every computer cord in the world, which makes it difficult to find the right one...haha. The camping trip was really fun, and HOT. We went hiking to an oasis in the middle of the desert mountains, and Silo was no longer white; he was a gray/cream poodle for the weekend. We also went exploring in these mud caves; it was very cool. I will post the pictures this weekend!

Grandpa Maxwell

These are some photos of the last time I was with my Grandpa Maxwell about 2 months ago. The one thing that I will always remember about my Grandpa Maxwell was his testimony. He had the strongest testimony of anyone I have ever met. I remember talking to him for hours about the scriptures and the different meanings behind them. Even if I asked one simple question about something in the scriptures he would go off for a long time on that one question, haha, and that's why I loved talking to him. He was very engaged in our conversations, which let me know that he truly loved and cared about me. I can only wish that someday my knwoledge of this gospel is half of what my Grandpa knew. I miss you Grandpa.

I'm sure most of you know that we have had such a HARD time potty training Silo. For a long time he just didn't get it that you DONT PEE in the house! Because he had been so difficult, we are extra cautious. He is doing much better now and he's probably safe to roam the house, but when we leave we always put him behind his gate. It's so sad to see him cry behind his gate, but what are we going to do? I think we're a little over protective of our home and of Silo, so we always take the safe route....Poor Silo....

Hello everyone! Just a quick update on the Lauper's...we are doing really well; not too much is new with us. Silo is a whopping 11 pounds now and he is full grown! Adam loves his job at Hp and couldn't ask for more. I am currently taking Interior Design and Art classes at Palomar college and loving it! I will post some of my art work when I get a chance.

Every winter Adam and I go on a snowboarding trip and visit with some of our best friends! Adam meets up with his mission buddies to snowboard, while me and the rest of the wives get pampered. The snow was beautiful and we had a great time with our friends. I wish we lived closer:( OH and Aaron (Adam's identical twin) got engaged over the weekend!!! It was really fun and I'm so excited for Michelle to be a part of the Lauper family!

Tiffany tagged me with this survey and I'm excited to do it! I love these survey's because it keeps me busy at work:) You might already know some of this about me, but I'll try to keep it interesting!

1. I have never gotten a ticket before! Yes I am proud to say I have no tickets under my belt, but I have gotten in a couple fender benders :/

2. I am a surprisingly good cook when I try. I don't cook too often, which is something I need to change, but when I do it's always delicious! It's the Glover blood that gives me my cooking skills.

3. I LOVE any craft! I absolutely love creating something from scratch because it's so rewarding when you're finished! I can spend hours in Michael's just looking around for ideas on what to do next. I also sew and I am almost done with my first quilt! It's made out of batik fabric and has a very colorful, vibrant feeling to it. The only problem with this hobby is that it's expensive...but aren't most hobbies?

4. I love old jazz tunes. I feel so relaxed and at peace when I listen to them. It makes me feel like I'm re-living the 50's with my red lipstick and high wasted skirt! I enjoy Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, and many more! Adam isn't too crazy about this genre, but I can't get enough!

5. Unlike Tiffany, I LOVE shopping for jeans! I don't know why you don't enjoy it Tiff because I love it. You should come shopping with me because I know what stores to hit. I have this weird obsession with jeans and I'm not sure why. I probably have over 15 pairs of jeans! I love it when I have found that perfect pair that fits me like a glove because when I put them on I feel like a million bucks! It's not only me I like shopping for either, I get so excited when Adam needs a new pair because I get to help him find them!

6. The last thing that you might not know about me is that I love Harry Potter. I love everything about the series. I love how JK Rowling is so creative with her magical world. I like fantasy books because when I read them I like to pretend life could be magical. Obviously it's not possible for someone to fly on a broomstick, but it's fun to pretend:)

CA Fires!

I'm sure you've all heard about the CA fires. Adam and I are happy to say we are safe and still have a home. The fire burned 18 homes in our stake about 2 miles away. We feel so blessed to have stayed with my parents during our evacuation period. I am so happy we have family close by; I don't know what we would have done if we had no where to go. Rancho Bernardo is looking better everyday. The community is helping out a lot and cleaning up our beautiful town. Here are a couple pictures from the fire. These were taken yesterday about 2 miles from our home.

An update on the Lauper's!

I thought I would post a written entry to update everyone on what's going on with Adam and I. Adam is doing really well at HP. He is going on a business trip to WA this Sunday for a whole week!!!:( I wish I was going with him because I don't like being alone, but there's not much I can do. I will keep busy with Silo and my unfinished crafts:)
At the moment I have a couple crafts I am working on. I bought three large canvases because I am going to attempt to paint a picture for our living room. I don't really know what I'm doing, but my mom and sister are wonderful artists, so I'm hoping I inherited some of their skills! A couple other crafts I need to finish are my quilt (it's just about done, but I need to do the borders) and a picture board of Silo.
Well, I am still working at American Assets, but I am planning on going to school this coming January. Here is my situation...I want to get my Bachelors in Interior Design at San Diego State University, but there are complications. In order for me to get accepted at SDSU, I have to take 6 classes to enter into my desired major and a couple more generals that I didn't take at BYU-I. THe problem is that I must complete all these courses by Spring of 2008 in order to get in for Fall of 2008. 8 classes is about 24 credits, which is impossible to do in just one semester! This means I will not be admitted until Fall of 2009!!!!! So I called a counselor at SDSU and they told me to find a major that doesn't require many classes to transfer and then switch once I've been accepted. That is my plan right now. I am trying to find a major that doesn't require a lot, which will get me into the school. If anyone has any advice, please let me know. I need to be sneaky to pull this off, and trust me, I'm not good at sneaky!
